Of course, in the interest of full disclosure, Experian Information Solutions has a vested interest in claiming that data democritization is a good thing. I don’t know that we have many academic (or semi-academic) studies that actually show that democratizing data improves company performance. Anecdotally, some of my clients get bogged down in trying to analyze data they don’t understand or researchers have to spend time correcting misinterpretation of data (see yesterdays DoD misusing data RBDR, for example).
