Pediatric clinicals weak; Pay closer attention to role of pharma reps (PRVR– 5/5-9/2014)

1) Boston Children’s Hospital’s Dr. Florence Bourgeois speaks of results of a Harvard pediatric device study, leading her to caution patients and physicians to be aware of the limitations in the safety and efficiency of pediatric devices. 2) LawyersAndSettlements.com highlighted the work of Professor Katherine Vukadin, who emphasizes the influential role of pharma reps and their marketing tactics with medical professionals — and advises those involved in medicine litigation to keep the reps in mind concerning safety issues. 3) On Cio.com.au, Brian Eastwood says some outside force needs to help Healthcare shake things up with its IT. 4) The Chief Medical Information Officer at Johns Hopkins Medicine says healthcare IT hasn’t yet been harnessed to interact with doctors, nurses and patients.
